We first me Dan Olson when initially considering an extensive remodel on our 1989 home. Knowing that Dan was our home's builder, we asked him if he might have kept the original building plans. “Of course”, he said, “let me take a look around”. With plans in hand, we met Dan at our home and right away we felt he was the right choice for us as our contractor. His kind demeanor, keen building and design insight, and obvious vast construction knowledge all were evident from our very first meeting and throughout our challenging and ever-changing project. Listening to all of our needs, wants and desires then formulating a comprehensive budget, Dan helped us develop and execute a grand vision for our remodel. Utilizing the deep experiential mettle that exemplifies Daniel J. Olson Construction, we embarked on our year-long project consisting of complex design elements to include; eleven-foot curved custom Venetian plaster walls, large and unique radius glass panels in our study, custom built and installed interior and exterior pivot doors, handmade iron railings with custom detail handrail woodwork, large master bath quartzite wall panels with meticulous lighting design and all the structural components necessary to keep everything supported. The Dan Olson construction crew were all fantastic to work with, always courteous, caring, efficient and with workmanship of the highest quality. We couldn’t be happier with our project and without hesitation would recommend Daniel J. Olson Construction to anyone who is looking for honest, dependable “old world” quality and craftsmanship in a contractor. On a side note: Unrelated to our remodel, this winter we noticed a small leak in our roof, so I naturally asked Dan if he could recommend a good roofer with experience in tile roofs. Not only did he connect us with the original roofing company who placed the roof in 1989 but also, to our amazement, connected us with the actual guy who installed the roof! Now that’s the kind of honest and well-connected contractor we all could use!

Dan built our family home in north Spokane in 2000. The minute we moved in it felt like home. Dan and his team pay attention to details. Their work is beautiful. When we decided to move to a condo, we sought out Dan to remodel our bathrooms and work with us on a creative solution for locating our treadmill. All was accomplished in a timely manner with no complaints from neighbors.

After moving to Spokane, and living in our newly-purchased home for about three years, we began to notice changes to the exterior of the house. It appeared that the stucco which covered the entire house, was a failing product. We consulted our neighbor, Dan Olson, a friend and outstanding home builder in the Spokane area, who confirmed our concerns. We were also advised by Dan, that if repairs were not made soon, there could be significant damage to the entire house. Fast forward a couple of months, Dan, with the expertise and ingenuity of his architectural firm, as well as his knowledge and imagination of various products which would transform the exterior of our home. With our concurrence throughout the project and Dan's superb insight as to the various materials complementing each other overall, the results of this renovation have been stunning. Some of the details are as follows. The main entrance to our home was completely transformed, which the enclosed photos will show, very dramatic and most inviting. The lower portion of the exterior was crafted with beautiful rock work. The upper part of the house was completed with cement siding, which, to the naked eye, would appear to be redwood siding. The effect is incredibly complimentary with the rock work. As an aside, as the project was being completed a wildfire swept through our area ravaging our overall Park Hills landscape, and destroying nine homes. The fire consumed our property up to three sides of our home with only interior smoke damage incurred. A follow-up evaluation brought a team from the Governor's office, which told us that everything possible, with the new materials on our house, had been accomplished to prevent and deter fire damage. Needless to say, we were most pleased, as was Dan, for using great materials for this extensive remodel. Finally, our overall assessment of Dan Olson and his Company, is that we give him the highest recommendation possible. His knowledge, his expertise , his hands-on approach to this project, and his daily communication with us has been a constant source of confidence in all he has done for us., The end result of this long and complicated renovation is, simply, our "new" and beautiful home, warm, and inviting, in beautiful Spokane.
